As a Fashion Show Production class, we have asked ourselves; what is the best way to learn about what it takes to produce a fashion show?
As a Fashion Show Production class, we have asked ourselves; what is the best way to learn about what it takes to produce a fashion show?
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week gave us the answer: volunteer and gain real life experience!
Over the past week and a half, students not only from our class, but designers and merchandisers as well, volunteered at numerous shows in New York City and learned what really happens before, during and after a real runway show. With hundreds of designers and limited time and space, we learned that each show, while only 15 minutes long, takes hours of preparation and coordination.
The most valuable lesson learned from volunteering was the importance of team work and communication. Rome was not built in a day, but in just a few months, the Silver Needle Fashion Show will be. Thank you IMG Events and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week for giving us the opportunity to
experience the creation of a live runway show!
